TRAVEL CONSIDERATIONS / ATTITUDE / ALTITUDE
A can-do attitude and good respiratory health are required for this adventure. Many travelers with disabilities have participated in this tour in the past and this is not a first time trial for this journey however, a few words of caution are necessary.
Peru is on its way towards accessibility despite the scarcity of their resources, and the tremendous challenges related to its infrastructure. Peruvians have made a firm decision to open our country to people with disabilities and our local host has made huge efforts to provide the best service to people with disabilities.
Nonetheless, this is a rigorous trip and all participants must be flexible and willing to accept situations where access in Peru remains limited. For this reason, only passengers with manual wheelchairs can be accepted (scooters, carts and electric wheelchairs can not be accommodated).

Altitude sickness is a common malady of travelers to Cuzco, Machu Picchu, and the Sacred Valley who do not adjust to the high altitude. The effects are different in every person and include headaches, nausea, loss of appetite, breathlessness, sleep problems and palpitations. Portable oxygen containers are sometimes available in some hotels, pharmacies and hospitals. Participants should consult their physician before joining this adventure.
Cuzco - 10,913 ft,
Machu Picchu 8,200 ft,
